Erie blows
Hail roof damage
How can the adjustor concede to damage to the ridge vents (they look as though they were beaten with a ball-peen hammer) than in the same sentence say there was no hail or hail damage. 3 BBB accredited roofing companies with A+ ratings disagree.
Micki M...... the adjuster for Erie doesn't inspect the roof she brings in out of state hacks to deny ,deny , deny. They even contradicted the NOAA and Indiana Farm Bureau reports on hail by saying there was no hail.
47 surrounding home have had their roofs replaced no problems. We are challenging these criminals at Erie, so if you are considering Erie as your insurance carrier DON'T if you live in Hamilton County Indiana.

Dropped me without telling me how to call to find out why
Moving On
After 30 years of being an Erie Auto policy customer, I am moving on. It is unfortunate to say the least but poor customer service and how they treat long time customers were my 2 major decision factors.
After my husband had an accident March 21, which was not his fault, Erie gave up trying to contact the other's driver's insurance. They said they had tried unsuccessfully for a few days and that maybe I would have better luck. Five minutes after calling, the other company contacted me. My vehicle which was totaled Erie left on my policy for 6 months and removed my every day driving vehicle from insurance.
Then when trying to get a quote for a new car Erie was unable to do that for us because they were now locked out of our policy due to the error of removing the wrong vehicle from the insurance.
We also received the paperwork listed for the new vehicle but unfortunately it listed the co-owners as Kevin and Kylie. Yes Kylie was correct but husband 's name is Jon......whoops......just too many errors for a company I have paid good money to over the years.
- Would not recommend
Preferred solution: nothing cancelling my policy and moving on effective 11/16/2018
Refusal to renew
Deny, Defer, Delay at its worst.
I contacted Mitchell Insurance Agency in Grove City Ohio, where I bought my policy. They provided me with a name and telephone number of a higher up in the company to contact. 9/26 I also contacted Nedveld Engineering by email and again asked for their inspector's...
My roof shingles and aluminum siding took a beating and should be replaced according to commercial inspection. Erie’s adjuster, Robert Thompson, found zero hail hits on the roof and alluded the siding had only mechanical damage. I complained about his findings and his attitude which seemed like he was dead set on denying the claim from the time we met on the property. I complained and asked that another adjuster be sent out.
Instead ERIE hired Nedveld Engineering to come and inspect the the House. I accompanied the Nedveld inspector who let me observe over his shoulder. During his inspection his very bright lighting showed that the side of my house was literally “peppered” with hail dings. He also counted 52+ hail dings per 10’ x 10’ measured area.
I assumed ERIE would now cover the damage since their inspector had been thoroughly repudiated. But it appears they are set to deny the claim again!! Citing “oxidation/older damage. Mind you that I lived here since 1999 and replaced the roof in 2004-****.
Mind you that Erie has insured me the entire time and there have been no hail storms in my area in that time. Mind you that homes up and down my street were also hail damaged and the homes immediately to either side of me have both had their roofs and siding replaced already due to their damage. Their insurers came through! Oh yeah, I spoke to the Erie adjuster two weeks ago and asked for two things; 1.
his hard copy claims report and that of the engineering firm, and 2. the name and phone number of his immediate supervisor for complaint purposes. As of yesterday my request was two weeks ago. As of today I have not received anything in writing from Erie.
These folds are a fraud.
I plan on contacting the Ohio Department of Insurance and the Attorney General’s Office. Steve in Grove City, Ohio
Never insure with Erie
Please trust my word. I had a total loss on a vehicle accident.
My trucks value was $29809.00, I got a check for $22022.00. I have tried to speak to the adjuster but instead of looking in to facts he wanted to make accusations that I was lying about the Kelly Blue Book value. I just got the check in the mail 9 weeks and 3 days from the date of my accident. I'm sure that I cant be the only person with this kind of service, especially being insured through them for an estimated 20 yrs with not one sing prior claim.
Home , business and auto. They just lost a lot of business with me because I will have another insurance company ASAP. I even sent him a copy of the report with my title. I am going to continue to call Erie until I get what my truck was valued at.
I also had a mower on the back of my truck and I was pulling a trailer. They refused any payment for the trailer. My truck went in to a flooded creek bed and a *** eater, chainsaw, 0-turn mower, cell phone and a few other items. I didn't expect new values back but looking up approx.
values of each item lost and added up it come to over $12000.00. They sent a $350.00 check for all the lost items. I did get the mower back but it is destroyed.
Please read this and if you think I am not stating facts then I hope you never need them like they need your money when your bill is due. They will most definitely screw you over.
Waste of money on premiums
- Lack of help from local agent
- Rude home office
- Get nothing in return
Worst service ever
Happy to cancel my policy
I’ve only been an Erie customer for less than 5 months and couldn’t be happier I’ve decided to end my relationship with your company.
Last month I called prior to the due date and paid my policy in full for the month of May, only for the “automatic payment system” to still attempt to charge me an additional $223.50.
Now my account is in the negative due to this pending payment, my own banks overdraft fees, daily negative balance fees…and the additional $25.00 insufficient funds charged by Erie (for a policy that at this point has been paid on time and in good standing).
After attempting to get this matter reconciled and meeting some of the most disgusting customer service I’ve ever experienced, it instantly made me question why I was making the conscious decision to pay over $200.00 a month for such lackluster, careless, flippant service. (Every time I called to express my dismay, I was quickly reminded how me paying my policy early with a different account was my fault.)
So I immediately decided to take my business for car insurance elsewhere. After canceling my policy on the 15th of June, I was mortified to discover ANOTHER charge from Erie on 6/18 for $273.50 (Now an additional $25 charge for insufficient funds). I find it ironic how if I were in a car accident on the 18th, Erie would have no dealings with me since my policy was in fact cancelled on the 15th, yet you are still able (and persistent) on charging moneys that 1) don’t belong to you, and 2) are not owed to you.
I have never been so disheartened and disgusted to the point of having to voice my displeasure in such a way.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution
I don't have a good agent or Auto &H0 premium
They seem to exclude every possible thing, except visible issues, such as a house burning down.
- Get nothing in return
- You pay a lot
Nightmare Psycho Company

It's always best to vote with your wallet. Unfortunately, the length of your previous relationship with the company means nothing ...
at all. Ever. It's insurance, the sketchiest game going.
Delay, Deny, Disgust. Good luck finding anything "better".
