Scammed and now treated horrible, avoid

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Weve had Erie for near 25 years! We have replacement coverage.

Not one auto claim, great credit rating, and no home owners claimsnot one! But year after year they slightly up their coverage and price, no matter what the economics. So last summer a tornado dropped a mile from our house and we had 115 mile per hour winds that hit us. It was a disaster.

We had 25 trees down in our yard, couldnt walk out our door with branches and trees downdevastation. The only damage to the house was 1 tree clipped the side of the house, took out our gutters and some of the roof shingles. The adjuster low balled us on the gutters and roof repair and would only cover part of the cost of tree removal for the one 1! tree sitting on the side of the house.

We have 25 trees completely down over the driveway, yard, everywhere! Agent said they dont care about anything else, but the house. The adjuster told us this would not affect or rates. Fast forward to one year and our next billing!

They increased our bill by 27% ! $175.00 called my agent and after 25 years of taking our moneyone tiny claim we are penalized for!

Tiny claim because it could have been so way worse of trees smashing into the house or losing a roof.we were so lucky! We will be shopping else where.they only care about their profit line, not their costumers.

Check your original policy. Most do not pay to help clean up after any weather events.

They should pay if home was damaged.

Please show where they did not pay where home was damaged. Erie has a great reputation.

Issue with Roadside Assistance

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The first time, I needed Erie Roadside Assistance for a Tow Truck in Charlotte, NC and they requested service from a Tow company in another state, Rock Hill, SC. FREALLY?

I waited 3 hours for a tow truck and called Erie back to see why they would contact a tow company in another state and asked if they could find a tow company near my location, they did but that wait would be another 2 hours. I finally had to cancel Erie Roadside Assistance Tow and contacted my own tow truck via Google, and they came within 20 minutes. This is unacceptable Erie, it would be nice if Erie Roadside Assistance had a shorter time frame of Roadside Assistance or choose better companies to contract with for Roadside Assistance. The point is someone is stuck on side of the road needing immediate or as soon as possible assistance not 5 hours later or next day assistance.

I am happy with my insurance rates and overall service of the company, but when I actually needed them the most, Roadside Assistance, they failed me. I just might change my insurance company because of this.

I need an insurance company I can rely on especially when I need them the most. I am very disappointed in Erie's Roadside Assistance Service.

Shady Company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We have been customers for years. Had an issue where we caused damage to a home we were working on. Submitted claim. Got quotes for repair work and Erie only wanted to give our clients 3k when the work was 7-8k. Then told clients to sue us for the remainder. Very unprofessional insurance adjusters and after being a loyal client for many years this is horrible business. Be aware of these scammers.

Denied Claim

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

An Erie insured driver backed into my car on 8/17/21 after pulling out of a handicapped parking space at the post office. I was stationary in the moving lane, saw that he wasn't going to stop, kept honking my horn, but he still hit my bumper.

He reversed forward &;;;;;;;;; was almost out of the p.o. even as I was still honking my horn. Deputy Sheriff in p.o. heard my horn, came out to investigate, wrote out a report.

Erie's driver never contacted Erie. I did a week later. Erie sent an adjuster to access damage ($605.78), a week later received a notice that Erie would not honor claim, no details of the discrepancy between the reports was reported. Erie supv.

also denied claim. I want to get the word out that this is not a reputable company. Saw 116 complaints just on BBB alone, not to mention other sites. Erie has a flawed claims payment process.

Even treats their own insured unjustifiably. Have reported them to multiple review sites & organizations that I hope can help me resolve this issue in my favor.

Stay away from Erie Insurance, read the online complaints about them. One star is too much, but there was not O option

My VIN Number had a typo in it on my registration form

I got a notice that my registration renewal had a flag on it (bad) because someone at my Agents office made a typo on my VIN no. and it says my insurance coverage is in question. I have called and emailed my agents office and customer service (they tell me they cannot do anything for me, they cannot change the wrong number/letter as it should be, the agent has to do that) trouble is no one can get through to them. My renewal is coming up and I need this ERROR corrected so what am I suppose to do?

Horrible Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was involved in an accident with one of Erie Insurance's customers. I was contacted by one of their inside claims representatives, Brittny Stewart, and she may have been the most rude and unprofessional person I've ever had to work with.

After explaining the situation, providing photo evidence, explaining that there were businesses to contact in order to get video footage, and there were bystanders, she still tried me to coerce me into admitting guilt. Nothing felt better than her calling back to admit that she was wrong and we were not at fault. I felt compelled to write this email to forewarn any person that is forced to work with her in the future, she was trash and I wish you the best of luck. Be better, Erie Insurance.

Brittny, you're trash. Treat people with respect.

Erie Insurance - I'm Now $60 Down The Drain
Wasn't going to have enough money for the payment to be on time. I get paid a few days after it'd be due. I canceled my online payments planning to pay them after pay day. I then a few days later log in to find they've still tried to take payment out not once but twice. So now I'm $60 down the drain in fee's and I'm already in enough debt as is. I've been frustrated with them before for taking money from the wrong account, but I played it off as my own fault. I just don't understand why they'd try to take it out twice let alone once after being canceled

Unprofessional and ill-mannored

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I am deeply concerned that Erie Insurance would have such an unprofessional individual handling a claim. The last call I received from this Cynthia Holloway was very rude and uncalled-for, attacking me right of the bat, attempting to put words into my mouth. Then, had the audacity to ask me, how old are you?, oh wait, let me look at your file. That being said, never in my life would I have thought that a woman in her twenties (me) is more professional than that. I have signed the release forms for Erie to send to both hospitals I had to visit for information that they needed, but only one received them. It's my place to have to make sure Erie is doing their part and making sure they follow up on information that they have not received from that hospital? This is something that should have been done between the two entities themselves since, I would have no knowledge that any of this happened. Now the hospital will not send the medical records because they do not have the signature and that is something that myself, cannot give them that is something that she should have already sent to them. This Holloway woman does not seem to know what she is even supposed to be doing and definitely should not be in the field that she is in, if so. Terribly and deeply disappointed in the customer service that Erie gives if this is an individual that represents Erie Insurance. Now I have to race to call many places before my bills, which are already in collections, hurts my credit. All in all, this lady doesn't really seem to care and keeps coming up with new things that she believes that I need to send but when I tell her she was sent everything, no we are supposed to have this, this, and this. She is as hard-headed as a doorknob. Definitely a sad excuse for an agent.

I am set up with automatic withdrawals for my auto policy. I made a manual payment online on the 31st for the full amount due. Erie then drafted another payment for the same amount, the following day, which in turn decreased the amount of money in my account. Budgeting exactly what I had spent with what bills had already paid I was missing $166. Therefore as the pending charges went through my account the bank paid and I was charged $35 per pending transaction that was processed in my account, with another 6 still pending. For every payment that drafts from my account my bank will be charging me $35. $36x8 pending payments=$280. I explained as an insurance agent myself, how my company handles things of this nature and received the response, with respect we are not *insert name of company *. They refuse to refund any fees charged to me from my bank which wouldnt have been there in the first place had they not taken payment from my account that was paid prior to the draft date

Brittny Stewart, Brittny Ruff Stewart is the worst Inside Claims Representative that works for Erie Insurance in Erie Pa at the Corprate office. From day 1 , it has been nothing but a hassel trying to file a claim with Jessica.

She is very rude and ignorant on the phone. When she calls , she doesn't leave a voicemail. So you have no idea who she was and the reason she was calling. I had called and left a few messages and she doesn't return any phone calls.

I had to call in to the office and give them a fake name just to get her on the phone. She is a nasty person who shouldn't even be in customer service and doesn't take her job serious. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been treated this way by her. I have been trying to file a claim for about 13 days now , along with video evidence.

She keeps playing games saying that she didn't receive my videos.

I would seriously caution anyone that is with Erie Insurance and deals with the Inside Claims Rep Brittny Stewart. I'm going to be filing a BBB Complaint as well.
